MIT Postdoctoral Associate – Theory
Postdoctoral Associate
Multiscale Gyrokinetic Turbulence
The Theory Group has an opening for a Postdoctoral Associate in the area of multiscale gyrokinetic turbulence simulation. Research will be visible and project-oriented, focusing on development and implementation of new algorithms in gyrokinetic simulations of multiscale plasma turbulence. The work involves code and model development and simulations of DIII-D tokamak experiments. The position will provide opportunities to collaborate with several different groups worldwide, including applied mathematicians in the FASTMath SciDAC Institute, providing an excellent springboard to start your career while developing advanced skills. Some numerical skills and parallel code development experience are required. A Ph.D. in plasma physics or a related area is required. Funding is available for two years with satisfactory progress. Please submit a CV and the names of three references (including their e-mail addresses and telephone numbers) with application material. If interested, please contact Darin Ernst, dernst@psfc.mit.edu. MIT is an Affirmative Action/Equal Opportunity Employer. MIT is a non–smoking environment.
